Inflation 1.0 (2023) - Poem

2023, the year of strain,
Inflation's grip brought endless pain,
From kopi-o to cai png's fares,
Prices soared, catching many unawares.

Public transport, a daily need,
Prices rose swiftly with great speed,
Electricity, water, tariffs spiked,
The burden heavy belts remained tight.

COE, a symbol of mobility,
Reaches dizzying heights beyond affordability.
As wallets strained and budgets cracked,
The future loomed, the people lacked.

As costs climbed higher to the sky,
The people fumed and wondered why
As prices surged, beyond belief,
Multiple burdens causing endless grief.

So as we brace for the year ahead,
With 9% GST on our head
The worst is yet to come so they say,
So brace for the 2024 impact to pay & pay

  ******* Video - Ah Mah's Baptism (07/10/18) ******* What a joyous day it is to be For my MIL to accept Christ at 90 Thot my ears were deceiving me Till my wife & I met her privately And she seems to declare proudly “I am now a Christian you know”, as she professes distinctly In Teochew, no less, I didn’t hear wrongly Loud & Clear, so joyous that I teared freely Once a pious pagan believer, she rejects Christ stubbornly From children to grandchildren, all tried witnessing to her faithfully But her heart was hardened and she rejects vehemently She never wanted to accept Christ personally. But when the Lord calls out to her candidly She cannot escape our Lord God Almighty. The Holy Spirit moves her heart to accept Christ readily. For a jolt came out of the blues suddenly.
