The Young Seniors
 
National Day 2023 rally new phrase suits me like a song.

I know this is where I belong
Its call "Young Seniors", a truly resilient gang.
This generation everything also can.
Neither fully young nor completely old,
Balancing responsibilities we're so bold.
PM Lee spoke, with a rallying cry,
Embrace the sandwich class, he did imply.
The Young Seniors though caught in a bind,
Neither here nor there but we're a unique find.
We do earn a bit but not a fortune to flaunt.
Yet still must care for those we're fond.
With aging parents needing support and care,
And kids growing seeking guidance there.
We could juggle all, with a hopeful heart,
In this sandwiched life we do our part.
Neither rich nor poor we strive to thrive,
Balancing tightropes yet so alive.
The "Majulah Package" brought some cheer,
A glimmer of hope, to soothe our fear.
Assistance and benefits to ease the weight,
Not very much but for the Young Seniors it's never too late.
But on the other end a storm coming our way,
Prepare for next year's GST hike so PM say.
9 percent, next year it'll rise.
So like having your present taken back,
Sigh, kanasai💩
But worry not, my friend,
Let's fight the chaos, & find our way,
Through the ups and downs come what may.
Here's to the Young Seniors' plight,
Balancing life's scales, day and night.
May we find solace as we tread our journey
And navigate thru safe & sound hopefully
Stay strong, Young Seniors, with hearts so bright,
Our journey is unique, a valiant fight.
And when challenges come, as they often do,
Remember, our experience & wisdom will see us thru

  ******* Video - Ah Mah's Baptism (07/10/18) ******* What a joyous day it is to be For my MIL to accept Christ at 90 Thot my ears were deceiving me Till my wife & I met her privately And she seems to declare proudly “I am now a Christian you know”, as she professes distinctly In Teochew, no less, I didn’t hear wrongly Loud & Clear, so joyous that I teared freely Once a pious pagan believer, she rejects Christ stubbornly From children to grandchildren, all tried witnessing to her faithfully But her heart was hardened and she rejects vehemently She never wanted to accept Christ personally. But when the Lord calls out to her candidly She cannot escape our Lord God Almighty. The Holy Spirit moves her heart to accept Christ readily. For a jolt came out of the blues suddenly.
