Unbearable Heat (29/6/23)-Poem

The sun beats down on Singapore ground
And everyone is feeling quite run down,
The air is thick, it's hard to breathe,
As sweat drips down from every sleeve.

Some bodies smells like rotting lemon so gross
While others has B.O. can't talk too close.
The heat is like a heavy cloak,
That wraps around us makes us choke,

The streets under the rays are silent, the birds are still,
All hiding in air con mall for cooler chill
But in this heat, it's hard to move,
It's hard to find the energy to groove.

But still we soldier on each day,
Through heat and haze, come what may,
For Singapore's a place of might,
Where we can face the heat and fight.

Fighting to get the cool bubble tea.
Fighting for the best shade that is free
So let's embrace this scorching sun,
And all the warmth that it has spun,

And the air con bill will shoot thru the roof.
That is the heartbreaking truth.
For though it's hot, we'll find a way,
Like it or not, still hv to keep on moving, day by day.
