When Your Life Partner Is Gone (1 Dec 2021)- Poem
Left Behind (1Dec 2021) - Poem
As the sunset fades in the western bow
Behind my thinning hair and furrowed brow
Beneath the work of time and tears
For all our 35 years life’s storms,
The withered look that life has put us on
My best friend, my life companion as we strode along
A bond and connection we've come this strong
But if ever by any misfortune one is gone.
Shudder to think how would the other half carry on?
They say time will heal, its easier said but it's just so wrong.
Everyone would have moved along.
But for the one that's been left behind to mourn,
The memories will play like a broken record song.
Playing them over and over again all day and all night long.
Now the sun begins to set and daylight is gone
Darkness and tears would be the companions as the night drags on.
And sleeplessness would be a tormenting standoff thereupon.
Till dawn awakens the soul for a new day as it comes along.
But the grief remains forever as long as the other one is gone.
This is my throbbing disquiet even though everyone says nothing will go wrong.
