Today is 29th Feb 2024. Its a leap year occurring once every 4 years. How could I missed this auspicious day but to do something I love, write a fictional short from "out of this world" romantic story. Hope u like it.                   ðŸ›¸A Leap In Space.🚀 In the quiet corner of Jurong East, on a small hilltop, lived a young woman named Jin. Her heart beat in rhythm with the cosmic wonders of the universe, and she was a passionate cosmic enthusiast. Jin spent her nights gazing at the stars, dreaming of distant galaxies through her Celestron telescope. Little did she know that her life was about to be forever intertwined with the mysteries of the cosmos on the night of February 29th, 1982, a leap year. On that fateful night, as the world embraced the magic of the extra day, Jin found herself drawn to her favorite hilltop overlooking the city lights. It was there that she encountered an alien being unlike anything she had ever ...

That Still Small Voice (16/02/2019) - Poem In my darkest pit where it’s just U and me I can be candid, I can be free To express what I’m going through I can't hide anything from U The doubts, worries & fear slipped away My heart smiles as I began to pray I can faintly hear your still small voice I realise once again that I have a choice I can look for the good and treasure thy work I can help others even when I'm hurt I'm under your watchful eyes every day And I’m never alone, here with me, U stay In the stillness there are other voice But U regain my strength, U regain my poise I live on your promises and thy Word I move on because it's only your voice I heard So never let me get too busy not to be still Keep me humble, & mould my selfish will That I may follow U and serve U with all I am That I may be useful to your sovereign plan U are taking care of more than just me U have a world to love, a world to set free From the sin and deceptions that capture us all...

The Dark Fortune (13/02/24)-Short Story

Image
Once upon a time, there lived a man named Song. He was an ordinary guy, working as an air con repairman, leading a simple life with his young family. One fateful night, while driving along the bendy and quiet South Buona Vista Road, Song stumbled upon a mysterious scene. There, parked on the side of the road, under lamp post no. 44 was a van with its headlights lighted and  engine still running. Bewildered, Song approached the van cautiously. To his shock, he discovered the lifeless body of the van's driver, slumped over the wheel. A sense of unease washed over him as he noticed a massive bag filled to the brim with money in the back of the van. Song's heart raced with conflicting emotions. Temptation tugged at him, and he couldn't resist the allure of the bag of money. In a moment of weakness, he made the impulsive decision to take the bag and hide it in his own van. However, his conscience tells him he has to do the right thing, so he immediately called the po...

CNY & Death. - poem

Image
In the midst of joyous celebrations, a somber fate called. A loved ones depart, as Chinese New Year befalls. A time of celebration is contrasted by sorrow's embrace, But death pays no heed to any festive's grace. Loved ones taken in a silent grasp, Leaving behind a void so vast. Destiny heeds no calendar's call, It arrives unannounced, to enthrall, CNY lanterns shining bright, casting a hopeful glow, Yet a mournful song echoes, for those who had to go. In the depths of sorrow, hearts burdened with sudden pain, Find solace in memories, like grasping grains of gold to retain. Amidst the reunion feasts and vibrant red attire, The bereaved remembering their loved ones will never expire. For the timing may seem cruel and unfair, The bonds they share transcend time and despair. In the depths of grief, love will live on, Like a beacon in the dark its never gone. Through tears and sorrow, its flame will burn Guiding hearts until the day they return. Death during CNY entwine...

Title : The Last Pen-Pal Letter. (Short Story)        - -----------☆------------- In a small cozy 3 room HDB flat in Toa Payoh, Meng and Ying sat side by side, their wrinkled hands intertwined as they gazed out at the swaying trees  below their block.  Their love story had begun over 60 years ago in the 60s when they were just young teenage pen pals, separated by the borders of Malaysia and Singapore.  Through countless letters they have written to each other, they had formed a bond that transcended distance and time.  When they finally met in person, their love only grew stronger. They build their life together & Ying bored him 4 children and together they weathered every storm as one. And so, the years have passed, age caught on and their health began to decline, and they knew that their time together was drawing to a close.  In the middle of the night Meng struggled to get up from his bed with wobbly feet and trembling hands & with...

Forbidden Romance (4/2/24) - Short Story

Image
01) Not The U sual Morning  As the sun peeked out of the horizon in a quiet residential neighborhood nestled amidst lush greenery, Mr. Murugan a respected retired silverhaired embalmer was going about his early morning to meet his equally seasoned kakis  for their daily morning stroll. The promised of a stunning beautiful morning beckons them for the great outdoors especially for the seniors. However, fate had a different plan in store for him on this momentous day. As Mr. Murugan went about his usual routine, he noticed something peculiar lying on the sidewalk among the bushes. It was a worn-out cardboard box, seemingly abandoned. Curiosity got the better of him, and he couldn't resist the urge to investigate its contents. With caution, he picked up the box, feeling its fragility in his hands. To his surprise, the box fell apart, revealing a green plastic bag within. The bag appeared to be holding something, that instantly raised Mr. Murugan's suspicions. Using a nearby twig,...

Puppy Love Story In The 70s ( Short Story)

Image
An Adolescent Love Story in the 70s  ************************************** A little insight of Steven's first adolescent love encounter which I finally managed to pen it down in words all becos of a song..... Melody Fair  (by Bee Gees) Came across this fond nostalgic tune of the Bee Gees' "Melody Fair" from the early 70s flooded my senses, igniting a rush of memories that brought both a smile and a pang of wistfulness to write this short story. It whisked me back to my teenage years of around 14 or 15, thats when my classmate Steven met his first sweetheart, Jane in secondary school during the 70s. "Melody Fair" was the movie song to their first date, a cherished memory from the movie S.W.A.L.K. (Seal With A Loving Kiss) that they watched together at the Globe Cinema, in the old Great World City ground. The tickets were a mere 50 cents back then, cheaper than a cup of kopi-O today.  In those innocent "pat tor" (wooing) days, they were ...

36 years of Union as of 29/03/2022 (Poem)

Image
On 29th March 1986 (36th Anniversary) Becos, What was and forever still is No sinister critics can alter the connection. Becos two souls are bound in this relation. Put together by the great Divine Only He knows the comparative design. The embodiment of the two souls understands. That what God put together, shall not be put asunder by man. While there is Sunshine, there is also rain. While there is love, there is also pain. From without and from within U can't fight it just to win But humbly refrain and never sin After 36 years of marriage, Thank God, the spirit of love has not waned Despite the thunderstorm and the rain

How u made it out is one's decision But neither holds the truest meaning. It's the Company along the way that makes it all amazing.

Time & Tide waits for no man.(Apr 2022)-Poem

Image
Strolling along in deep thoughts Alone in tranquility I badly sought  In a park  enjoying what nature brought Cherish every little step  Stop, look and check What have I missed? Amazed at God’s created piece. Slow down, stop and smell the flowers Bask in the sun, feel the shower. Just for a moment or even an hour. Caught up with fast pace and rat race. It is but a continous wretched maze. Stress, anguish, affliction, pain and calamity. Its all but part of humanity. Each & every  family has their own little story Some have a  trail of worries Some have a lifetime of miseries Some wayang to keep the amicability Some ignore to keep their sanity. Some work hard to keep the harmony. Some fortunate ones has more joy than agony It is in us to make it how it turn out to be. Go on your knees in prayer and repent. He will hear your petition and laments. Also remember the blessings and give thanks. For He is your God and confidante. He will answer your pray...

When The Day Departs. (27/11/21) - Poem

Image
When The Day Departs. (27/11/21) - Poem This is the end of the day When the sun withdraws its glorious rays And the beginning of night When the moon turns up its solemn light. Disappointment comes before hope Darkness of night remains till dawn broke And dream as you'll live forever. And live as you will die today a believer. As dawn breaks, hope cometh on the new day. And peace shalt find its way.

When Your Life Partner Is Gone (1 Dec 2021)- Poem

Image
Left Behind (1Dec 2021) - Poem As the sunset fades in the western bow Behind my thinning hair and furrowed brow Beneath the work of time and tears As I see thru with greater fear For all our 35 years life’s storms, The withered look that life has put us on My best friend, my life companion as we strode along A bond and connection we've come this strong But if ever by any misfortune one is gone. Shudder to think how would the other half carry on? They say time will heal, its easier said but it's just so wrong. Everyone would have moved along. But for the one that's been left behind to mourn, The memories will play like a broken record song. Playing them over and over again all day and all night long. Now the sun begins to set and daylight is gone Darkness and tears would be the companions as the night drags on. And sleeplessness would be a tormenting standoff thereupon. Till dawn awakens the soul for a new day as it comes along. But the grief remains forever as long as...

My Two Grand Sweethearts 13/03/2012 - Poem

Image
My Two Grand Sweethearts 13/03/2012 - Poem  Happiness takes me by surprise Everytime I look into my grandchildrens' eyes. Charlotte & Sophia are their names. Their little cheeky smiles takes away my aching pains. Hugging them with their cute & cuddly innocence Drives away all my gloomy despondence Laughing with them lifts my spirit Makes me younger just a little bit So long as my knee & back just don't creak.

A Tribute To Rev. Dr Tow S H (9/03/2019)

Image
A Tribute To Rev. Dr Tow S H (9/03/2019) I never really knew who God was, if not for u. Your clear concise booming voice spoke the true good news. I had understood God from a superficial point of view. But u spoke the Word Of God as clear as day I never knew. U unfold the truth bound inside a book waiting to be told. I never heard of a sermon spoken yet so bold. Until I came to Jurong Calvary BP church in 1985 when u were not so old. U solemnised my marriage I cannot forget. The day u even tried sharing the gospel with my stubborn late Dad. U are not only my devout faithful pastor U were also my wife's gynae doctor. U delivered my first two sons personally Coolly humming hymns in the labour ward while I perspired profusely. We always converse in Teochew when we meet one to one. Always have that sense of bonding just like father & son. U even visited my wife in the later years when she was unwell Even though u were advance in age & not in very good health. Such was your lo...
